The Most Esoteric X-Men Reference In Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales Isn’t About Dazzler, It’s About A Lobster

Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales dropped last week exclusively on the Playstation 4 and the Playstation 5. While the game is indeed a rip-roaring good time with excellent characters, graphics, and gameplay there has not been nearly enough discussion on the most important easter egg in the game. Beware mild late-game spoilers ahead.

Bill the Lobster, X-legend and star of the Fallen Angels mini-series by Jo Duffy and Kerry Gammill, is in this game.

After the completion of the main story, a new collectable mission unlocks that takes Miles across the city. One of these locations is a restaurant called Lobster Bill’s, notable for a large lobster statue on it’s marquee, which Miles’ refers to as “Bill the Lobster”.

It’s unknown as to whether this restaurant was named after a green cybernetic telepathic lobster or whether this statue was commissioned in it’s honor, but a separate collectable quest confirms Dazzler and Lila Cheny are rocking venues in this universe so there remains hope. Either way, if any X-Character was going to lead the next-gen debut of Marvel’s Merry Mutants, we here at Xavier Files couldn’t be happier that it’s Bill The Lobster.
