Do you miss smashing your action figures together? Well you are in good company because writer Gerry Duggan and artist Mike Deodato feel the same way. They are just in a position to do something about it. As such, they have taken “all of the biggest badasses of the Marvel Universe ” including the knife-having Wolverine, the gun-having Punisher, the teeth-having Venom, the sai-having Elektra, and the butt of 90% of Fred Hembeck’s jokes known as Brother Voodoo, and teamed them up with “Conan as a wild card”.
This “unsanctioned team of heroes” aren’t a covert action squad but an explosive group that shoots, stabs, and screams at their problems. SVP and Executive Editor Tom Brevoort had this shade to throw “It’s big, it’s brash, it’s explosive, it never slows down—the only scenes in SAVAGE AVENGERS that involve a table is when somebody is being thrown through one.”
The team will be introduced in the Free Comic Book Day exclusive FCBD AVENGERS and their journey will continue this May in SAVAGE AVENGERS #1. And as many jokes as I have made, this actually looks dope.

It feels like we have found some very fertile ground that is a Venn diagram between those two worlds.”
