Secret Empire United Cover Change or Where’s My Girl Emma At?

Back in March we reported on Secret Empire United, a one-shot showing how Emma would lead the mutants of New Tian against Stevil Rodger’s Hydra. It also had a great cover of Emma Frost punching a Nazi.

In the wake of IvX #6 we all needed that, even if Emma was wearing her horrible new costume.

Now, however, the Marvel Comics Digital store is showing something different.  It has the trade dress but no Emma. Instead Magik is punching a Hydra goon, and while I love Magik, I wonder what that means for what’s inside.

At C2E2 this year, Marvel reveled the covers to X-Men Blue #8 & #9 which showed Emma wearing more traditional Hellfire Club era clothes.

Could this cover change just be because of Emma’s new (old) costume? Probably. This wouldn’t be the first time Marvel has backtracked on a costume fans hated in recent months. Me? I’m just sad we don’t get a cover of Emma punching a Nazi. Secret Empire United is out June 14th.

Zachary Jenkins runs ComicsXF and is a co-host on the podcast “Battle of the Atom.” Shocking everyone, he has a full and vibrant life outside of all this.
